PTG extends a warm welcome to Stephanie Oakes, the new Libby Librarian!
See information on Ms. Oakes library research class here. For the Follett on-line student library catalog and other library news from Ms. Oakes, visit the Libby Center Library pages at http://www.spokaneschools.org/domain/4004. Until we get more families to sign up for e-mail announcements from PTG, you will see some duplication with messages from the Libby office. So encourage your Libby friends to sign up!
Many thanks to our guests and those that were able to attend PTG Family Pizza Night. We hope you made some new friends and enjoyed the evening. We hear there were some people wondering about the purpose of the event. No formal speaker, no pitch - just an opportunity to get together, to “dine” (as Mike Cantlon likes to remind us at camp), to celebrate the beginning of the school year, to play, and to foster community among Libby families, staff and friends. Community building events also provide opportunity to make your cash donation to PTG! Please join the PTG at our first meeting of the school year, Oct 8th, 5:30 pm, in the Art room. The purpose will be to approve the budget. The opportunity will be to meet your Parent Teacher Group representatives and learn more about PTG! Odyssey and Tessera families, please join the PTG at Libby Center for our first community building event of the school year.
Family Pizza Night, Tuesday, September 24, 5:30-7:00 pm If you missed Back To School Night last week, here is the message from PTG.
These are the 4 things it takes for 4 years to enrich and enhance the student experience through PTG at Libby Center. 1. It takes your attention - Sign up for e-mail Announcements. See the subscribe section of the sidebar menu. RSS feed is also available from the Announcements page. Read the messages! We will try to be brief. 2. It takes cash - Make a Direct Donation. Just click the Donate button on the sidebar menu. We do alternative fundraising - remember that we do not ask you or your students to sell gift wrap, magazines, or candy bars. 3. It takes involvement - Participate – be a model for your students! 4. It takes work – Volunteer! Additional enrichment will not happen without your help. Sign up when you see volunteer requests. Remember “We Need You!" Check our website for the list of things we do to support enrichment at Libby – plus a calendar, resources, meeting information, and contacts. We all know that Libby Center provides unique opportunities for our kids. Please show your appreciation with the 4 for 4. Thank You! Back to School Night! Thursday, September 12th, beginning at 6:30pm. Meet in the gym for info, then check out your student's classroom and meet the teacher!
